Firebirds stencilled onto ice-dyed and other hand dyed fabrics, stitched with perle cotton and metallic threads using stem stitch and French knots - with the odd Dorset button!
'A pocket full of magic' was an entry in the Embroiderers; Guild Members' Challenge 'Exquisite Containers', Based on a pattern for a lady's pocket, it was made from fine cotton, and embroidered in silks and metallic threads.

'Tropical Sunset framed by Night' was entered in the 2023/4 competition and was awarded a commendation under The Julia Caprara Award for best use of colour.
'Excavation' was an entry for the same competition a few years earlier.
Alongside these are some pieces designed for projects published in the Guild virtual branch, and others stitched merely for pleasure.

Plushwork - sometimes called German Plushwork or Amish Stumpwork, is created by stitching over a template, and cutting the stitches to create the raised effect.
Some of examples were made using a 1930's template kit. The larger flowers were stitched using Appletons Crewel Wool, the smaller flowers were stitched in silk.
